Opportunity LOL Reviews: SodaStream
Ever since I started Opportunity LOL I hoped that I would one day be able to do a SodaStream review. Ladies and gentleman, that day has come! I got my Jet SodaStream in the mail and it works better then I ever thought it would, and now I can make my zero calorie cola without having to leave the house. Epic win! No plugs or electrical outlets needed. I was worried about how intense the setup would be, but the SodaStream essentially comes built. Very easy to set up, I honestly couldn't be any happier with this product. It isn't overwhelmingly large but rather takes up little space on a kitchen counter.
So, how does it work? First off, the general manual comes in 16 different languages, which makes sense because SodaStream sells their products in over 30 countries. After setting up the carbonation and thoroughly washing the two empty soda bottles, you're literally ready to make soda! All you have to do is fill your cleaned soda bottle with water up to the fill line. Simply press the tilt lever and screw in your soda bottle into the Soda Stream. The environmentalist in you will embrace the notion of re-using the same non-dishwasher safe soda bottle for each use. Finally, press the carbonating button about three times, add your choice of soda mix, and voila you have soda! In adulthood it's very rare that grownups have the opportunity to feel like mad scientists. In business since 1903, SodaStream has so many varieties and options that you could mix a different type of soda everyday for years. SodaStream sent me 6 16.9oz naturally flavored soda mixes, and each one makes 50 servings aka 12 liters! That means each container of flavored soda mix contains 33 12 oz. cans. How sweet is that? Are there soda drinkers in your family that shouldn't be lifting 2-liters or large cases at the grocery store? The ideal solution is the SodaStream and it makes for a great gift. SodaStream's Zero Calorie Cola Mix contains no aspartame, no preservatives, and very little sodium. I appreciate that it does contain caffeine. I know you're probably wondering if you purchased a SodaStream would you be trading convenience for taste, but believe me the taste is fantastic! In fact I'm very happy to report that SodaStream's Zero Calorie Soda Mix tastes almost exactly like all the name brand sodas I grew up drinking, in some cases my concoctions taste better! There is no down side to this product.
My gf, the leading mixologist in my house, believes she has created the best soda. She combined half-a-cap of SodaStream's Diet Lemon-Lime Soda Mix and half-a-cap of Soda Stream's Cranberry-Raspberry Mix. I would say it tastes like cranberry mountain dew, how cool is that?
