Opp LOL Reviews: Unbox Industries M5 Bravo and Stee-Gar Profondo Rosso Edition Designed by Jeff Lamm
There's only so much space for items in your house. Choosing what designer vinyl is worthy for a spot on your mantle isn't an easy decision. Given the high quality, vibrancy, and interchangeability of M5 Bravo and Stee-Gar, these toys represent the epitome of what I want displayed in my living space. Just to confirm, featured above on the left with wings is Stee-Gar and on the right is M5 Bravo. The arch nemeses of Greasebat, these limited edition space monsters designed by Jeff Lamm were brought to life with sheer perfection by Unbox Industries. Stee-Gar's head, wings, waist, lower torso, and legs all articulate and M5 Bravo's arms, head, waist, lower torso, and legs are moveable. These 6 inch toys do contain small parts and are not intended for children under the age of 14. The spiky frazzled texture of Stee-Gar's body is entertaining and addicting to touch. M5 Bravo comes packaged with stickers that read M5B, Game Over, Unbox Industries, etc that are meant to be placed on the rectangular box on the figure's belly. While this concept is clever, I couldn't bring myself to put a sticker on this toy seeing as I valued it so much in it's original form. Each figure is individually packaged with a header card on top which features an animated scene of the characters in space on the front. The back of the card showcases examples of how to interchange the pieces of each monster. Check out Opportunity LOL's Flickr Set to see more of the packaging and figures swapped. The head, torso, and lower body all pop off into three separate pieces. This playability feature is one reason to seek out all of the color ways released of these monsters. Productions of these super limited edition color ways run from 15 to as many as 50 sets. If you realistically want a chance to get your hands on them, you should add yourself to the Unbox mailing list. Especially since the rarest and variant editions of toys are exclusively offered to those subscribers. Take note, be careful when you pull the characters apart. Be aware of your surroundings and have enough distance from a table so that you can pull hard without scratching the figures in any way. I smacked the back of Stee-Gar on my laptop and the ding in his pristine paint job haunts me weeks after it happened.
