Review Guidelines / Terms and Conditions Interested in having your product or brand reviewed on Opportunity LOL? Before moving forward please be sure to read the information below so you can familiarize yourself with our review guidelines / terms and conditions. If you're also interested in doing a giveaway with Opportunity LOL please take the time to read over the giveaway information below. Given this page is linked at the bottom of our reviews section, on our about page, and included whenever we send our address, we are operating under the assumption that you have read and agree to everything written below. When you're ready to move forward feel free e-mail us. We receive hundreds of emails on a weekly basis so we will get back to you as soon as we can. Review Guidelines / Terms and Conditions, Written in a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Format: What do I get in exchange for sending Opportunity LOL a product? This is not a barter and you should not view this as an exchange of product for promotion. You may gift us products and as we review things we purchase or view we may or may not write a review on something received. If you gift us something, know that whether we write a review, promote your product, and/or how we write about the product is 100% within our discretion. It is worth writing twice - sending us a product does not guarantee a review at all and this is not a barter exchange. If you send us products, it is still possible and sometimes likely that we will not write about those items or your company. This is not an exchange of product for promotion. If you would like to pay Opportunity LOL to write a review in order to alert our readers to the existence of your company, that is possible. We would write a completely honest assessment (which may be negative) from our perspective, include disclosure that we have been paid, and send it to you for approval. If you agree we will post it to Opportunity LOL. We will not edit or change any reviews we send for approval. In this case, you would be paying us to write what we thought and if you agree it will then be posted to http://www.opplol.com/index.html, to be removed from http://www.opplol.com/index.html once ten articles are written after the paid article's publishing. If it is not approved the file will be deleted and our business will have concluded. There are no refunds in this event. Our rate is $200/article, length completely at our discretion, pictures completely at our discretion, and again - words written completely at our discretion. There are no refunds. We may also delete that article after thirty calendar days if we choose, without refunding money. Does Opportunity LOL publish negative product reviews? We often do not publish negative reviews. If we find we cannot write a positive review on a product gifted to us we may contact your company privately and let you know our thoughts. We will definitely not write a review if the product and/or its packaging arrives damaged, is dangerous in some way, or doesn't functionally work. We may also cease all communication once products are sent if we decide, for any reason or none at all. Will you edit a review once it's published? Opportunity LOL is willing to correct links, grammar, or spelling if we think we are in error. This occurs at a very low rate, but when it does happen we will do our best to make sure information is corrected as quickly as possible. However, we will not change wording, add or delete paragraphs, or do any substantial editing to the article other than correct problems in the article. Are there any products Opportunity LOL will not review? We generally do not accept adult, gambling, harmful, or hateful products. We also will not review anything that objectifies women, glorifies drinking, smoking, or drug use. We make a strong effort to keep Opportunity LOL family friendly and like to write about companies that do the same. How will I know when Opportunity LOL has received a product that I sent? Upon receipt of your gift a member of the Opportunity LOL staff may email you directly with an arrival notification. As said before, we may also cease all communication once products are sent if we decide, for any reason or none at all. If I send you images of my products will Opportunity LOL use them? Opportunity LOL staff takes their own pictures of every product received. They're high quality, sized for the article, and show our reader we actually received the product we're reviewing. With that said, we may in some cases choose to use images provided by your business. Ultimately Opportunity LOL reserves the right to choose the images published within each review. When will a product review be published? Upon receipt of product, it may take up to 90 days for an article to be uploaded. We may also not publish a review for any reason, or none at all. How will I know when a product's review has been posted? When a product review is posted on the main site we may email your company with a link to the review. However, even if we publish a review on a product gifted to us, we may choose to not communicate that news at all. Can I post Opportunity LOL's review on my own blog or website? Articles published are owned excusively by Opportunity LOL. You may quote up to 2 sentences and link to our review, but we don't get involved in duplicate content and we don't allow anyone to use our unique content. We recommend against using the full review on your website as we make sure our articles get pinged as soon as they are published. We believe Google frowns on duplicate/stolen content and using copy from our own articles may harm your ranking as well as cause us to contact you and/or your ISP to have them taken down. If you wish to purchase our images, we are open to it, but this is something we'd like to deal with privately. Are product reviews posted on Opportunity LOL's Facebook Page? That is completely within our discretion. Are product reviews tweeted by @OpportunityLOL? That is completely within our discretion. Will Opportunity LOL return my gift after it has been reviewed? No, if you send something to us, you gifted it to us and we do not return gifts. We do not send products back. Whether you email when the package is in route or once we receive your product that you want it back, under no circumstances can we honor those requests. We do not intend to keep all of the items gifted to us and may end up giving those products away to friends, family, or a charity after the articles are published but that is completely within our discretion. What happens if Opportunity LOL receives a damaged product to review? If a damaged product is received by us we may e-mail your company to alert them to that news. We often do not post negative product reviews and in the case that a working and perfect condition product is not sent, the odds of us reviewing a damaged product are very close to 0%. Take note, we will not alter a damaged product. Intact packaging is important to us - often we want to take a picture of the whole product, including it's theming so if the packaging is damaged we will probably not review that item. Can I use the images Opportunity LOL produces of my product for my own purposes? If you are interested in acquiring our images please contact us directly to work out the details. If I send you a sample product is it guaranteed to get a review? Not at all. If Opportunity LOL is gifted product(s), even if we requested it, that in no way guarantees a review will be posted. If the product is defective, hazardous, unusable, isn't family friendly, or for any other reason or no reason at all, your company may receive a notification email. We may also cease all communication and not send an e-mail. Even if we do not have a reason, but do not want to write the review, we will not write a review and the product(s) will not be sent back. Understand that you are gifting us the product and it is completely within our discretion as to whether we write anything. Will Opportunity LOL create a new review category for a product I send? We are open to the possibility of creating additional categories but we reserve the right to choose the appropriate category to place any and all reviews in. Can I specify the exact length of the review? We will not honor any request to deviate from the our review style, layout, and length. Can I decide which links to be included in the review? We will respect requests to not link anything within the body of the review either before or after the review has been written. However, we will only link to pages that we think are appropriate. What links will be included in the review? By gifting Opportunity LOL product(s) you are giving us permission to link to your social media accounts including your blog, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Flickr, etc. You are also agreeing to have us link to your online store, product locator, and any other pages owned by your company. You are giving us permission to link to any internal page within your website such as your "About Us" page. If I send you my banner or logo will you include it in my review? That would fall under banner advertising, please feel free to contact us about rates. Giveaway Guidelines How are giveaways run on Opportunity LOL? For us to run a giveaway, two products would have to be sent to Opportunity LOL. Please note, you will have to send Opportunity LOL both the product you are hoping to be reviewed and the product you are hoping we will give away to a reader. We do not forward Opp LOL giveaway winners info to any third parties including to the company giving away a product. We take the privacy of our readers very seriously. Given that we have readers all over the United States and abroad we always want to make sure everyone has equal opportunities to win, so when a giveaway product is sent to us we are not restricted by some companies USA shipping only policies. It is possible that we may decide to not review the product and run a giveaway and we may decide to review the product and not give the second item away. In that event, the second item will either be given away to someone we personally know or placed in the trash. Can I obtain the giveaway winners personal information such as their email address or shipping information? No. As stated above, we take the privacy of our readers very seriously. We at no time will forward a winners personal information to any third party. How do fans enter for a chance to win a giveaway? For up to three chances to win an Opp LOL fan may comment on Opportunity LOL's Facebook wall post about the giveaway, Tweet at both the company providing the product for the giveaway and @Opportunity LOL that they want to win, or join the newsletter email list for a chance to win every current and future giveaway on the site. Can the format in which giveaways are run be altered? To uphold the integrity of the site we will not alter our giveaway format. Can fans be directed to like and comment on my Facebook page for a chance to win? No. While a review may contain a link to your Facebook page, we under no circumstances will send readers to another Facebook wall for a chance to win a giveaway. How are giveaway winners chosen? Giveaway winners are picked randomly by the Opportunity LOL staff. How are giveaway winners notified that they have won? Giveaway winners are notified via the medium with which they have won. For instance, if a person wins via Twitter they will receive an @reply to contact us. If they win via Facebook we will comment on that post asking them to contact us directly. If they win via the email list they will receive an email. Can I send you one sample product to both review and then giveaway? No. Can I offer a gift code as a giveaway?
