War Metal Tyrant Guide: Old School Bloodthirsty & Raider Decks
It's very cool seeing a ton of traffic in one week, a lot of it for my last War Metal Tyrant article. Imperial and Xeno are the most popular factions, but now it's time to see some winning Raider and Bloodthirsty decks. The game is a lot more fun when you stretch your capabilities further and create decks based around less popular cards and completely dominate your opponents.
Old School, Basic Deck: Bloodthirsty Deck with High Hit Point Cards, Healing, and Anti-Xeno
This deck has Dementia as the hero rather than Malort, because it's rare to see Raider decks in PvP (Malort has Rally Bloodthirsty 1, Strike Raider 1). Dementia has Heal All Bloodthirsty 1, which is helpful when paired with high hit point cards that can take a few hits and then let heal refresh themselves. You'll run into Xeno decks most of the time, so this deck has heavy anti-xeno abilities.
Vampire is one of the best non-rare cards you can use in a Bloodthirsty deck. 1 Wait, 2/4 is enough to be worth playing, and leech 1 puts it over the top. I went from 0 to 5000 rating in the Arena with nearly all Vampires because they're very common and extremely helpful.
I hope you've saved up your War Bonds! This card is currently available for purchase for 20 WB in the home screen, and Groteske is great - low wait, 1/3 with AntiAir 2 is a great card against Flyers. Many Xeno cards (that aren't Mind Controller) fly, which means non-flyers only have a 50% chance of hitting, so when you do hit, make it count!
Smog Tank is the heart of this deck. I use 3 and think that's the perfect number to ensure these guys hit the field. Weaken All Xeno 1 means all Xeno opponents lose one of their attack points. If you're against rows of Mind Controllers (the most common Xeno card since it's so powerful), one Smog Tank reduces them all to 0/4.
Blood Spout is the second most important card for this bloodthirsty deck. A wait time of 3, high health, and Heal All Bloodthirsty 1, when paired with Dementia, means most damage your opponents do gets undone as soon as it's your turn. It also has leach 1, which is helpful.
I use two Hatchets in this deck because they leech, fly, and have a wait time of 1. If I didn't keep all my decks faction-specific, this card qualifies to be in many other builds because they're such strong units.
Since this is Anti-Xeno, Sanguinphage helps a lot. Weaken Xeno 3, when paired with Smog Tanks, means your Xeno opponent won't have any attack power. If they rely on counter to do damage, your healing will refresh your cards and this card has Leech 1 on top to make it a must have for your Bloodthirsty deck. Don't use this deck against Xeno's with Mimic because you have amazing modifiers on your cards. Sidoze is a great raider hero, but I would chose Atlas if I had him. Sidoze buffs the Cannon Walkers in this deck, but Atlas has Strike 1, which is even better.
Hunter is the least helpful card in this deck. It's one health point is the main problem, but it comes out in one one turn and has strike 1 and packs a big punch with 3 attack. I would take this card out and put another Hydra in if possible, but the Hunter is still helpful within the general theme of harassing your opponent with Strike.
Hydra is likely the best Raider card. It's also not unique, which means you *could* have 10 of them and run wild on your opponents. Armored 2 and AntiAir 2 means it is 4/4 against a flyer without strike. Siege 2 is helpful, but know that most advanced opponents don't use many structures other than Orbital Cannon. If they have those cards though, Hydra becomes even more helpful.
Cannon Walker is the core of this deck. I'm using 4 of them, which should tell you how powerful they are. High Health and AntiAir 3 means they're 4/5 cards with a wait time of 1 against Flyers. I used to run big Flying units in my Xeno deck until I kept running into Cannon Walkers and they'd melt my units.
If you spend War Bonds and buy your way into the Elite store, you get Mech Walker. It has great stats, being a 2/3 card with a wait time of 2, Armored 2, and Strike 1. I'd use more if it wasn't unique, but unfortunately you can only use one Mech Walker in a given deck.
Sand Crawler may be the weakest of the rare Raider cards that is still playable. I like the Counter 2 and Weaken All 1, but the wait time of 4 is entirely too high for a 4/4 card. Perhaps if I had healing it would be better, but I don't believe I have any high end healing Raider Cards. I'm not sure if they exist either.
The last, but certainly not least of this deck is Chronos. Wait time of 3 for a 3/5 isn't bad, and Strike 3 will let you pluck your opponent's units off the battlefield with ease. [Go Back to Beginning]
