War Metal Tyrant Guide: Introduction to Nexus Packs and New Raider Cards
Introduction to the Nexus Packs I contacted one of the Developers for War Metal: Tyrant to see if I could help him promote his new expansion and he agreed. Unfortunately, he only sent me two screenshots of garbage cards with abilities he didn't explain. So, I was unable to put anything out before the expansion about the new cards and campaigns. The new Nexus decks and expansion were released today, with the decks costing 25 Warbonds. I spent some money and bought a bunch of the new Nexus packs. I now can properly explain the best cards in the Nexus packs and show off my new high-end decks I built. I have an extremely well-developed set-up for all four factions now: Raider, Imperial, Bloodthirsty, and Xeno. Xeno was improved the least, Imperial are now the best class IMO, and the Raiders are vastly improved. They have a new Rare commander that Heals All Raiders 1, a really great new structure, and the Colossus, to be explained below. For the rest of the decks, go to: Imperial | Bloodthirsty | Xeno. Also, you may be wondering about the Legendary cards that have shown up in some people's decks. They ARE legendary! Short wait times, extremely powerful, and YOU can get them without spending any warbonds. They can be found in the Gold packs (5000 silver, 25 Warbonds) and I have 1-2 of them but I want to first showcase the Nexus cards and the next guide will focus on the Legendary cards. Note: There are a few Legendary cards in the Nexus packs (Goliath notably missing for me, but check out the Imperial guide for Helios) that are so amazing, however I wasn't lucky enough to pull one. If you don't want to pay any money, save up your daily rewards of an occasional Warbond and open a Nexus pack whenever you save up 25. If you can get any Legendary card for any class, it's always worth using in that classes deck and possibly worth using in any deck period. Finally there is a Raider commander that Heals All 1! Yurich is great and a must have for someone looking to put together a really high-end Raider deck. Definitely better than Atlas (Strike 1) imo. I've paired him with some sturdy cards.
The Earthquake Generator is seeing play in both my new Raider deck (this one) and my Xeno deck as well. Strike All 1, Siege All 1 is sweet. However, note the HP of 5 and Wait of 3 - if you see someone with seige out on the field already, hold off on playing this card until you wipe it out. Otherwise it'll work maybe 1-2 times and you'll have wasted the card.
Fear the Colossus! It's not the best of all the rare cards found in the Nexus packs, but it's pretty sweet. Evade means 50% of the time it won't be affected by enemy specials, so it can avoid many of the "Strike x" affects. Counter is known to be amazing, thus why the Mind Controllers were nerfed. 2/5 with a Wait of 3 makes this worth using in any Raider deck.
Impede Assault is now very helpful due to the rise of Crush cards. If a card with Crush kills the opposing card, it'll do X dmg to your commander. This instant is helpful because it can keep a few cards alive with Jam and Weaken All 2 and you can heal/attack your enemy before he can take any of your cards out.
The rest of these cards aren't from the Nexus packs but are part of a well rounded deck. For instance, Anvil has Armored 2 and Crush 2. This means that he essentially has 3/5 with a Wait of 3, so long as he's not being hit by Strike. Crush is sick, and will play a very big part in my Imperial Nexus deck.
Bolide Walker can be acquired for reaching 2000 reputation in the Blood Shield campaign. If you're against Mimic cards, take this one out, but otherwise it's extremely powerful. Strike All 2 and Siege 3 can wipe out all cards your opponent can throw at you.
Hydra is a great card with a short Wait (2). Armored 2, Seige 2, AntiAir 2 makes this card a Wall/Flyers worst nightmare. Especially since it comes out so quickly it'll be in action before most high-end flyers and you can knock them out with ease.
Mech Walker is another powerful card for the Raider class. Pretty simple, a Wait of 2, 2/3 card with Armored 2 and Strike 1. Play this card fairly early and give yourself a shot at taking down your opponents high-HP/high-Wait cards.
Currently available on the front page of Tyrant for 25 War Bonds, Ravenous Beast is pretty great. If I had infinite money I'm curious what 10 of these guys can do, but I'm not too keen to try since I've ran into 1-2 people with a lot of them and I still wiped them out so long as I got my strongest cards out first. Regen 2 means if killed the card has a 50% chance to come back with 2 health. It's possible but unlikely - you could regen infinite times. It also Rallys All Raider cards on your side 1, so you can turn your fairly weak but quick cards into powerhouses.
Don't forget the Cannon Walker! 1/5 with a Wait of 1 is good enough for a low-end deck, but with Siege 2 and AntiAir 3, this card works well with the Hydra to knock out Flyers and Walls very quickly.
