War Metal Tyrant Guide: New Nexus Cards for the Imperial Class
Helios, Dominator, and Maximum Damage With only 1 good rare card and 1 Legendary for the Imperial faction in the Nexus decks, you'd think they didn't get much of a boost. That is very false. I've put 8 of the new cards in my decks (5 Dominators, 2 Neutral Maximum Damage Instants, and the Legendary Helios) and they are giving me a huge edge in my battles. Freddie stays as the commander since Heal All x 1 is the best special for a commander to have, better than Strike 1 or Mimic. You can build decks around a specific cause and perhaps those other commanders are better, but for a well-rounded balanced deck, Freddie is your guy.
How lucky am I? Well, I did spend money to get the Warbonds to open the packs, but I got the Legendary Imperial Helios!!! It has a Wait of 4, but 3/7, Heal All Imperial 2, and Evade makes it the best card I've seen in the Nexus packs. Pull this card first and then pull out as many Dominators as possible and you're gonna win most of the time.
This is probably the best rare card you can get in the entire series of Nexus pack cards. The Dominator has a Wait of 2, 2/4, has AntiAir 2, Pierce 2, and Crush 2. It's built to tear down your enemies quickly and should likely be used 1st or 2nd if possible. I would recommend pulling 1 high HP, high Wait cards first, and then pull as many of these cards as possible. Your goal is to defeat your opponent's card and break through and do 2 damage directly to the enemy commander. The rest of this deck is built around making sure that happens.
Maximum Damage is the best new Instant in the game. Rally 2, Strike 2, and Seige 2 give you a great shot at boosting your Dominator cards and getting the kill.
This is a must-have in any Imperial deck. Aegis has a slow wait and poor stats, but it's Heal All 2 + Armored 1 give it enough power to stay on the field and keep all of your other cards alive. You don't want your enemy to be able to use Crush and blast through, so this card is now more and more helpful.
You need two high hp cards in this Imperial deck for it to work well. Otherwise you'll be pulling out a bunch of Dominators, who are great, but you'll never manifest enough damage to beat a high-end deck and you'll take too much damage on your lighter powerful cards without a high HP card to take some damage. I recommend the Helios above but if you aren't as lucky, use an Exodrone and use a Titan. As soon as you can, pull the Helios or Titan and the rest of the deck plays itself.
