Mawcor, Blight Tower, & Other Great Bloodthirsty Cards

The Bloodthirsty class got 3 pretty cool rare cards in the Nexus packs. Mawcor and Blight Tower are used in my balanced deck, and I have the commander Dracorex for very specific battles, which I'll explain below. In general though, Dementia's Heal All Bloodthirsty 1 is too powerful for her not to be used in most Bloodthirsty set-ups.

Mawcor is likely the second best rare card after the Imperial Dominator. Flurry is a new ability for Tyrant, giving it a 50% chance to do damage again. In the Mawcor's case, it has 2 50% chances, so you could do up to 9 damage to an enemy AND since no card can really survive that much damage (unless flying and you miss a lot), you'll do 3 damage to the enemy commander. Pair with the Maximum Damage Instant explained in the Raider Nexus article and you'll see how having a few of these guys is almost an assured win.

I'm really hesitant to use structures because Seige only works if you use structures and I'm not too keen on giving my opponent something to hit when I have the option not too. Blight Tower is too powerful not to be in your Bloodthirsty decks. If your opponent makes the error to include Raiders, Xeno, and Imperial cards in the same deck they're doomed. Otherwise, you'll be limiting the damage Imperial and Raider decks can do and Strike Xeno 2 is really great.

Draconian Queen is a lucky pull from the Gold packs. Unique with a wait time of 4, this card better have great stats and it really does. Flying is great, Rally Bloodthirsty 1 is a little helpful, and Leech 4 lets you pluck Mind Controllers and other cards with Counter off the field without really losing any health.

Will I ever build a Bloodthirsty deck without Hatchet? Not with a ton of Nexus cards to use so far, so it's looking pretty good for this quick Flyer. Wait of 1, 2/3, Leach 2, and Flying is pretty ridiculous.

When To Use Dracorex

The new rare Nexus Bloodthirsty commander, Dracorex is pretty fantastic in certain scenarios. Weaken All 1 is good, but primarily in a deck that has a general strategy to weaken all of your opponent's cards. When paired with Blight Tower against Imperial or Smog Tanks against Xeno, you can take all the bite out of your opponent's units and slowly chip away to win. Take a look below at my battle against a pretty good Imperial deck (it has a purple Legendary card) and see how no card out can do direct damage, only using specials to have any chance against me. I won obviously, but you'll still need some power in your other cards to defeat the large number of Strike modifiers in Imperial decks.
