Dragons

Dragons are often the most common theme you'll run into when randomly PvPing. Also, sometimes the Barbarians will take over a piece of your land and will run 4 decks of Dragons. How'd they get so many? It's rigged LOL. How do YOU get so many? Open a LOT of faction packs and read my guide on how to get T6 and T7 cards. Most of these 4 deck Dragon set-ups are very exploitable because dragons do very little damage and immune cards with decent health don't get touched by the firebreath, icebolts, etc. So, this guide will show you how to put together a balanced Dragon set-up and how to beat the Dragons your opponent uses against you. Below are my current decks and I'll explain why I chose the cards I did and how you can win.

Deck 1: Ice Dragons

Katrina Aloft is amazing. I'd use four decks of T7 Dragons with Four Katrina's if I could, because this hero provides +1 attack to all dragons and has pretty amazing stats for a flying unit. 8 wait for a 2/8 Flyer? Really? I got this unit in a Monster Expansion pack, which costs 6 Warcash. Hefty pricetag, but those packs have really strong cards, so friend a lot of people, open a lot of gifts, and save up! I'm using 3 White Dragons and a White Drake, all with Flying and Icebolt. Icebolt is fantastic because it has a 50% chance of freezing your opponent. Kirdanaan Darkshield shows up in a lot of my guides because Block and Attack+2 is a huge buff to give to your units. Dragons don't do a ton of dmg, so both of these artifacts provide damage boosts.

Deck 2: More Ice Dragons - So Much Ice!

Two more Ice Dragons, 2 Mountain Lairs to provide a health buff, a Human Matimilopeotryx, and 2 Nature's Wrath cards. This deck provides works well with Deck 1, and continues the Icebolt theme.

Deck 3: Red Dragons - Everyone Burns

Your opponent is in trouble against Red Dragons. Firebreath 2 does 2 direct damage to non-immune units and has them burn for 1 damage every turn. Grux the Dragonlord provides a huge +2 boost, and if you look at the first picture at the top of this guide you'll see what it looks like when you have a bunch of dragons out with Grux. Huge damage! I got the T7 Ignite and T6 Magma Blast yesterday, and both are very helpful. Burn all sets all of your opponent's units on fire and Magma Blast takes 1 health off of all opponents without immunity and has a 50% chance of returning to the staging area. Both spells are Demon-unique, and like most faction-unique spells, they're way more powerful than most neutral spells. If you're against a bunch of non-flying non-archers, your opponent probably has 20 total turns before they lose.

Deck 4: Undead Dragons

The Undead Matimilopeotryx is very overpowered. Drainbolt 3 does 3 damage and heals the Dragon for 3 health. Huge wait time, but get this unit out on the field and you win most of the time. 4 Draining Flying Black Dragons heal and do decent damage. I included a T6 Blast which is very helpful in beating the weaker units that your opponent may get out while you wait 10-12 turns before you have even one card in play. I also included a T7 Skull Rider because a weakness of Dragons is Archers and Trample does double damage against those units. Flaming is great but we already know that.

How to Beat Dragons

Deck 1: Basic Archers w/ Artifacts to Buff

OK, so you keep running into sick set-ups like above. What do you do? Bring out the Archers! They're faster and they do double damage against Flying units. Flamebow and Icebow Archer aren't particularly strong, but they're quick and are essentially 2/4 and 4/4 against flyers. I included two artifacts to buff the weak units, Sword of Prowess gives Attack +3 and Khronan Rum gives Attack+2 and Health+2. If I had two of each card, I'd choose 2 T6 Khronan Rums because the health boost of 2 is more helpful than one extra damage.

Deck 2: Frustrating Immune Undead

I call this deck frustrating because if you run into this deck with your Ice or Red Dragons you're going to be really annoyed! Bone Archer and Skeletal Marksman are Animated Archers with low wait times, so they have a 50% chance of coming back on the field again and again. The Soulless is Immune, Regenerates, and lets me bring out a ton of artifacts and spells. I chose 2 Helm of Absorption cards because most damage dragons do is from their modifiers. If you have immune cards, most dragons do one or two damage max. Unsummon is so fun because it takes 10-12 turns to get a good dragon on the field and Unsummon can put them back in the staging area again and again. They're animated cards so they have a 50% chance of coming back into your hand once used. This deck is definitely not the one you should be using against a single Dragon deck because there are too many artifacts and spells but it becomes unbelievably helpful in a set-up of 3 or more.

Deck 3: Tough Archers

I recently got Loremaster Tani and anytime I am using only one Elf deck, I chose this hero. Low wait time, 1 Artifact and 2 Spells, and Zap,Zap let's the hero do 1 dmg to a random enemy. I used 3 Shield Rider cards because Block often takes away the one damage a dragon does and they do 4 damage (double) to flying units. Shield of Storms removes flying from one card per turn, Levitate gives all friendly cards on the field flying for one turn, and Invigorate heals all units in play four health. This leads to having some tough archers who are a Dragon's worst enemy.

Deck 4: Tough Orcs w/ Archers

Final deck in this set-up and it's a fantastic one to use in 1vs1 battles. I chose Skoreg, Exiled over a lot of T7 heroes because it has strong stats for a short wait time and Demoralizes 2. Don't sweat Lose Morale 2 unless you're against a demoralizing set-up (like the kind I explain in my last guide). I use 2 Captured Hill Giant units because the 12 wait time is very worth it given most other units in this set-up come out fast and a 3/8 Archer is essentially 6/8 against a flyer. Only Matimilopeotryx cards can outlast one of their shots, and then only for two turns. Vistav Mutant does one damage to all enemies in play. I chose Fireshroud Cultist and Grassfire for their low wait times and Flaming modifier. If I had unlimited Silver and Cash, I would likely use 5 Captured Hill Giants, but these flaming cards are second best. I chose Codex Tempest because it gives one of your units Zap 3, which melts anyone not immune.

So, if you have Dragons - make sure to buff their damage, health, and use spells that damage the units already out. If you are fighting dragons - use Archers, Flaming, Unsummon, and Immune units and artifacts. If you're against a set-up of Dragons AND Archers, you're going to have to use a similar set-up and either get lucky or have superior cards.
